My name is Jaelyn Takiguchi and I want to become the health educator for the county of Maui. I am so interested in this specific population because this is my hometown and this island is the island with the highest obesity rates. My goal for this specific population is to reduce the rate of obesity by 30% within the next few years. I have done numerous research studies on this specific topic, so I feel as if I am quite fit for the job. I am currently in school pursuing an interest in Public Health with a minor in Health and Wellness Coaching. I have volunteered with a hospital in Spain and I have done other volunteer work with North Country Health Care and Flagstaff Medical Center.
